How to solve a cube-Part one (and other stuff too!)

Ok people……a lot of you don’t know how to solve a cube. Some people have a cube, but can’t do it. Some people don’t have a cube, but can solve it. Now, I hope you can understand this stuff I’m telling you right now.

Well…visualise a cube, or grab a cube you have handy. Look at it. Most people would choose to start on white, but you can choose any colour to start with. Well, remember several basic steps:
1. Form a cross.
2. Put the corner in to solve a face.
3. Put in the middle layer pieces.
4. Orient the bottom layer corners.
5. Orient the bottom layer edges. (optional)
6. “Switch” the corner pieces around. (optional)
7. Solve the edge pieces.
Well, you kinda get the idea what I’m gonna teach you.

First of all, build a cross. Look for the centre piece of your chosen colour, and look for the edge pieces (the pieces with only two sides (ps. if you didn’t get that then you’re stupid xP)) with your chosen colour on it. Then think of a way to put that edge piece there so that it forms something like this…..

You see that there is a cross formed there? Well that is what you are trying to get; also remember to put the edge pieces in the right place-the white-green edge piece matches, don’t they?
This part should be purely logic (as shown by Jason Wen), but you can learn some formulas for this. Very simple. For example, this one……(this picture is upside down. Imagine that the centre piece on the bottom face is white)

You see the white-green edge piece there? The green lines up with the centre green-so with this, just move that face twice to flip that white over to meet that white centre! (just like this…..)

With a bit of logic, you can figure out where and how to place those edge pieces.

Well now to a bit of random stuff! I decided to build a fact file on…..

Ah. A funny little creature. It’s quite big, growing up to a maximum length of 11 centimetres. A ground dwelling tree frog (sort of ambiguous, heh?), it is now in vulnerable status.

Ah yes…..Elizabeth didn’t even notice that she tried to sit on a wonky chair…..

2. (Some random thing assumed by Evan to be proof) Elizabeth was walking around c block once. Was she looking for something, or as Evan says, looking for Jinghang? My outlook on this: Looking for something else, but it was good for laughs.

3. Elizabeth likes asking Jinghang, in a veery sing-song and high pitched voice, “Oh Jinghang, what’s the answer to question ____?” This is possibly suspicious. Why didn’t she ask Gerald for the answer, who was higher ranked at that time?

1. Angela herself claimed that Elizabeth liked someone else.
2. Elizabeth herself denies it (obviously.)
3. Jinghang himself denies it (obviously.)

First blog entry!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I will put completely random stuff into my blog posts, for example, Jinghang swore every ten seconds while he was cubing with his old cube! Yes, there are a lot of random facts here.

First up: the completely random rumour of Jinghang/Elizabeth. We all know Jinghang as baldy or Jihad, and Elizabeth as PB, but how did this rumour start?

Jinghang: It was Richard/Evan.
Evan: It wasn’t me!
Me: I didn’t spread it.

Well where did it start? It might have leaked out of our conversation somewhere (or maybe just that Evan and Gerald started calling her Elizabeth Luo (or EL for short) while we were playing soccer…….). BUT they deduced this so-called fact from distinct facts discovered by several people. Quite suspicious circumstances here…..

1. Elizabeth usually sits behind or on the same row (with a gap between the tables) as Jinghang.
(discovered by mere noticing.)

o_O Event: I accurately predicted the place where Elizabeth would sit: behind Gerald, who was sitting next to Jinghang and Evan. We know that she sits behind Evan and Gerald just to kick him, but why not sit behind Evan? Why sit next to Gerald, when Jinghang is next to him? More on this topic in next blog!
